Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, dry surface.

  1. Install batteries: Open battery compartment, insert two AA batteries observing correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Extend telescopic antenna: Fully extend for FM listening.
  3. For AM: No extension needed; use internal ferrite bar antenna.
  4. Connect headphones: Plug into 3.5mm jack if desired.

WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries or different battery types. Remove batteries if not using for extended periods.

First-Time Setup

Power on radio; follow these steps.

  1. Select band: Slide BAND selector to AM or FM.
  2. Tune to station: Turn TUNING knob slowly until station is heard clearly.
  3. Adjust volume: Turn VOLUME knob to desired level.
  4. Optimize antenna: For FM, extend and adjust telescopic antenna direction. For AM, rotate entire radio for best reception.

CAUTION! Keep away from moisture and extreme temperatures.

Connecting Headphones

Use standard 3.5mm stereo headphones.

  1. Ensure volume is turned down low.
  2. Plug headphones firmly into the headphone jack.
  3. Adjust volume to comfortable level.

Tip: When headphones are connected, the internal speaker is disabled.

Tuning and Reception

For best reception, follow these guidelines.

  1. FM: Extend telescopic antenna fully. Adjust direction for clearest sound. Avoid obstructions.
  2. AM: Use internal ferrite bar antenna. Rotate the entire radio slowly to find position with least noise and strongest signal.
  3. Tuning: Turn knob slowly. The tuning indicator will show peak at correct frequency.
  4. Weak signals: Move radio to different location, away from electronic devices or metal objects.

WARNING! Do not force tuning knob; turn gently.

Battery Information

Use two AA batteries (alkaline recommended).

CAUTION! Risk of battery leakage if left in depleted state.

Care & Cleaning

Remove batteries before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or water.

CAUTION! Do not immerse in water; keep telescopic antenna dry and free of debris.
