Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface away from heat sources and moisture.

First-Time Setup

Power on the unit; the Power LED will illuminate.

  1. Set Clock/Time Display: Press the CLOCK/TIMER button and use the TUNING/PRESET buttons to set the time. Press again to confirm.
  2. Program Radio Presets: Tune to desired station. Press and hold a PRESET button (1-5 for FM, 6-10 for AM) until the display confirms.

Playing and Recording Tapes

  1. Insert Cassette: Press STOP/EJECT to open deck, insert tape with exposed tape facing outward and toward you.
  2. Playback: Press PLAY. Use FF/REW to navigate. Engage AUTO-REVERSE for continuous play.
  3. Recording (Deck A only):
    • From Radio: Tune to station, insert blank tape, press REC + PLAY simultaneously.
    • From External Source: Connect to Line In, set FUNCTION to AUX, press REC + PLAY.
    • From Microphone: Plug mic into MIC jack, press REC + PLAY.
  4. Dubbing Tapes: Insert source tape in Deck B, blank tape in Deck A. Press PLAY on Deck B and REC + PLAY on Deck A.
  5. Pause: Press PAUSE during play/record to temporarily halt.

WARNING! Do not leave tapes in deck when not in use for extended periods. Never force the cassette compartment closed.

Radio Operation

  1. Select Band: Set FUNCTION to RADIO. Press BAND button to toggle AM/FM.
  2. Manual Tuning: Rotate TUNING knob. For FM stereo, ensure STEREO LED is lit.
  3. Preset Stations: Store up to 10 stations (5 FM, 5 AM) as described in First-Time Setup.
  4. Fine Tuning (FM): Adjust antenna direction and unit placement for best reception.
  5. Sleep Timer: Press SLEEP to set auto power-off (15-90 minutes) while listening to radio.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug AC adapter and remove batteries before cleaning.

  1. Exterior: Wipe with soft, dry cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen cloth slightly with water.
  2. Cassette Heads: Use commercial head cleaning cassette every 30-50 hours of use.
  3. Pinch Roller & Capstan: Clean with cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
  4. Antenna: Wipe with dry cloth; retract when not in use.

CAUTION! Never use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or spray liquids directly on the unit. Do not insert objects into vents or cassette slot.
